This picture is
called “Tricotage” (French for knitting), and I only discovered recently by chance the
name of the sitter, who with Mr Davis is a member of the Royal Society of Portrait
Painters.

Simon’s
Facebook page is devoted mainly to his painting and portrait work, though
he has “another life”, as he terms it, in comic book illustration.
